About
Flo Horswell was born into a sculpture family - her mother Mary Harvey wrote her book on Rembrandt Bugatti (Italian - 1884 -1916) whilst Flo crawled around her office, having helped artists such as Terrence Cuneo produce their own catalogues. Her father ran the Atelier Foundry (which her sister would later develop into a highly skilled creative space, specialising herself in striking accomplished patinas) and her brother, his wife and niece turning Sladmore Gallery into a pillar of Sculpture in central London. She started at Sladmore stuffing envelopes, moved up to Registar, Gallery Manager/Director, 19th century specialist and finally Director and Specialist in the Modern and Impressionist Department. Whilst at Sladmore she curated exhibitions, collaborated with over ten international major museum exhibitions, organised over 200 loans from private collections, set up two galleries and worked with other stakeholders on many public installations and engagement projects. She now vets 4 art fairs and is chair of sculpture standard committees, values sculptures, arranges museum loans, helps with public installations and is writing her own catalogue in time honoured family tradition. She creates sculpture experiences, from domestic locations, to projects spanning corporate spaces and city districts. She describes herself as a 'sculpture geek'.
